Founder Neil Robbins saw firsthand, while working alongside his family’s restoration franchise, how many companies handled only the front end of the process—cleaning and mitigation—then left customers to manage the rest: navigating insurance claims, hiring contractors, and rebuilding their lives on their own.

Determined to change that, Neil founded Insurcomm to deliver a truly complete recovery experience. Drawing on his background in construction and deep understanding of insurance workflows, he built a company designed to manage the full claim—restoring not just property, but peace of mind. Over time, he expanded Insurcomm’s capabilities to include mitigation, contents, and large-loss expertise, evolving it into a trusted full-service partner known for craftsmanship, coordination, and clarity at every step.

As Neil puts it, “You need passion in this business. You need to listen to a customer’s needs. It’s a daunting process for them, but by being an educator, psychiatrist, and builder, we’ve always helped our clients.
So much so, we would often get invited to their homes, parties, and gatherings as their way of saying thanks.”

In 2024, Insurcomm entered a new chapter of growth and leadership when it was acquired by Summit Partners, a leading growth-focused alternative investment firm founded in 1984. Summit’s investment supports Insurcomm’s national expansion strategy as the company continues its mission to deliver the highest quality service to commercial clients, residential customers, and municipalities navigating property loss events.

As part of this acquisition, Insurcomm became the first company in a new portfolio under Fortify Companies, with Kelly Brewer appointed as Chief Executive Officer.

Guided by Fortify’s vision and Summit’s support, Insurcomm continues to expand its reach, strengthen its capabilities, and build on its legacy of trust, quality, and care.

Founded in Portsmouth, NH

Neil Robbins founds Insurcomm as an insurance-related reconstruction and restoration company. From a 2,000 sq. ft. warehouse with two employees, the team serves the Seacoast regions of New Hampshire and Maine.

1997

Mike Brown Joins the Team

College friend Mike Brown partners with Neil after graduating from the Wentworth Institute of Technology. With shared expertise in Construction Management, they begin growing the company’s reach and reputation.

Portsmouth Expansion

Insurcomm grows to ten employees and opens a 5,000 sq. ft. warehouse on Lafayette Road. Insurcomm remains focused on exceptional craftsmanship and customer satisfaction

Growth Across New England

The company now operates in three states with 30 employees and 400 pieces of restoration equipment. A new Contents Division launches to better serve customers.

New Headquarters Serving All of New England

A new 42,000 sq. ft. facility opens at 290 Heritage Avenue in Portsmouth, NH. With over 50 certified employees and 2,000 pieces of equipment, Insurcomm now serves all six New England states.

Focused on Customers and Community

Insurcomm begins offering Continuing Education courses with the New Hampshire Association of Insurance Agents and strengthens its partnerships across the insurance and construction industries.

Work with the Federal Government Begins

Insurcomm starts supporting nationwide recovery projects as a subcontractor for federal prime contractors, responding to large-loss and natural disaster events across the country.

GSA Multiple Award Schedule Issued

The company receives a General Services Administration (GSA) Multiple Award Schedule, allowing Insurcomm to provide emergency response services to federal agencies.

Acquisition by Summit Partners & Formation of Fortify Companies

Summit Partners acquires Insurcomm, marking the company’s next era of growth. As the first company under the newly established Fortify Companies portfolio, Insurcomm welcomes Kelly Brewer as CEO. Summit’s investment supports Insurcomm’s national expansion strategy and reinforces its mission to deliver the highest-quality restoration and reconstruction services nationwide.

Insurcomm’s capabilities now extend across more than 100 markets in 30+ states through the Fortify Companies network, following the addition of Rytech Restoration. This expansion enables Insurcomm to support customers on complex, multi-location, and high-severity losses nationwide while maintaining the local expertise and relationships that have defined its success for over three decades.
